It’s important to know that our minds can do two things.
1. It can think and
2. It can be aware.
While thinking is essential for day to day living, such as I have to buy milk, leave the house at 7.30am for the 8am train and I must remember to book flights for our sumer holidays, it is the epidemic of over-thinking that causes our stress, worry, anxiety etc. Your feelings are there to show you what your thinking is doing. Notice today anytime your mood changes (for good or for bad) and immediately check what you were thinking about. You will very quickly see that it is your thoughts that are making your feelings. Instantly switch into what you can see, hear, feel, taste and smell in your immediate environment. Now you have accessed the other part of your mind, the aware mind, and watch how naturally good you feel then
