Mindfulness Courses in Ireland:

What are the benefits of this course for you?

Carmel Farnan has designed this course based on the latest scientific research combining the best aspects of various disciplines within Psychology. As an accredited supervising psychotherapist Carmel draws upon her 15 years of clinical practice and her 20 years of training in the fields of Mindfulness, Psychology, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Positive Psychology. Whilst research overwhelmingly supports the benefits of Mindfulness, it has also shown that is not the total answer. While Mindfulness becomes easier through regular practice, anyone who has practiced it will acknowledge that during stressful times, old negative thought patterns and behaviours often reappear thus sabotaging the practice of Mindfulness. Tools, in addition to Mindfulness, are also needed to help dissolve these old unwanted thinking habits.

Why is this course different?

While primarily focused on Mindfulness, this course also teaches practices from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help eradicate these negative thought patterns which reside in the unconscious mind. It also draws on scientific tools from Positive Psychology which centre on teaching people how to be happier. This combination of approaches offers participants a total approach to lasting happiness and well-being in life. Those who have previously attended (as quoted in the testimonials at the end of this page) explain the great benefits they are now experiencing in their lives through attending these courses.

What you will learn on this course:

  • What is Mindfulness ?
  • How to practice Meditation of Breath.
  • Practical techniques to ACTUALLY live in the present moment.
  • Learn how to manage your thoughts to change your feelings.
  • How to be happier through using the evidence based tools of Positive Psychology.
  • How to reduce stress, anxiety and other negative thinking styles.
  • Why positive thinking alone will NOT work.
  • How to uncover your true nature – which research proves is always positive.
  • How to improve key relationships in your life.
  • How to Relax and Meditate and apply this meditation in your everyday life.

This course is based on latest Neuroscience research, which demonstrated that teachings from this type of course have been scientifically proven to increase levels of happiness, well-being and emotional regulation.

“Carmel Farnan is a generous, kind and skilled facilitator. Her mindfulness course is supportive and enlightening. It will change your life for the better – if you let it”. Megan Wynne, Dublin.

“I attended this Mindfulness course on the 18th Jan. I had a bad habit of worrying about future events and feeling guilty about previous events in my life. This led to anxiety, stress and insomnia. All I can say is after attending this course I am a changed individual. I concentrate and live in the now. On what is going on right now in my life, rather than next week’s presentation I have to give, or will I be able to pay my mortgage at the end of the month. Before I attended the course I felt I did not have the skills to achieve change, but for me it was almost overnight. The key to it was practice and writing down the positive and putting the negatives to one side. They will look after themselves. When I go for my evening walk now, hail rain or snow I leave my ipod behind. I walk and take everything in. The smell of the grass, the sight of the tress and nature all around me. I listen to the ducks in the park, or the simple sound of the water in the river. By simply using my god given senses I am enjoying that walk and taking everything in. This course gave me the tools to do these thing,s and although I am only two weeks into it the results and my general outlook on everyday life is very positive. Also part of the course dealt with Meditation. Now, having suffered from insomnia for years I was sceptical of this. I had done Reiki, acupuncture massages, medication – all to no avail. I also listened to cd’s or phone apps of relaxing music but none of these worked for me. Perhaps it was the fact that it was the end of a long day but when the meditation techniques happened I was so relaxed and chilled out I wondered how I was going to wake myself up to drive home. All I can say is from a personal perspective after attending this course my mind does not wander off when I use the daily techniques. It stays clearly in the now. I would recommend anyone to try it to see if it brings something new, useful, helpful and life-changing to their lives no matter what their ailments are. The first step is attending. Once you have made that step you WILL notice a difference for the better. Thank you Carmel and I look forward to attending a follow up course in a few months”.
